I grew up in Alaska which I credit for my love of the wilderness and everything in it, as well as enjoying a rural (and snowy) lifestyle.
I went to college at the University of Colorado in Boulder primarily because of my experience in Steamboat Springs cross-country ski racing during high school many years ago. I raced on the ski team at CU then moved to Sun Valley, Idaho which became my home for many years.
Veterinary school took me to Grenada (West Indies) and Philadelphia, which were great experiences. Following graduation I completed an internship at a small animal emergency and specialty hospital outside of San Francisco, CA which was incredibly busy and valuable! My most recent move back to Colorado is one of the most exciting....
My veterinary interests are quite varied, and include diagnostic ultrasound, pain management, orthopedic surgery, physical therapy/rehabilitation, as well as wildlife conservation.
Outside of work, I love to explore on my mountain bike or cross-country skis. My rescued Chihuahua "Minnie" often accompanies me while hiking...
I am so happy to be a part of the wonderful and caring Pet Kare Team as well as having the chance to become a part of the Steamboat community!
